Trees, they are everywhere, even the sea (floating logs, boats, mangroves, etc, etc). Some places there are vast forests, other places none. Hang on… petrified forests, oil (made from trees and other vegetation hidden under vast stretches of sand). But, in most places, look across into the distance, and there’ll be a tree..?

The first day of winter. There is a cold snap in the air, partly due to the nearly cloudless sky (and the time of year of course). The tree is slightly distorted, as it sits exposed atop the hedge. The conditions coming together to make a wonderful sunset.

Spring and there’s a dead tree standing proud in a green grassy field. It’s bold past, strength and age, ready to merge back into the landscape it came from.
