Do I like processed images? I would like to say I hate them, but there is a time and place to use processing, and before you know it, you’re using processing more than you think…
I like images to look genuine, not some overly colourful fairytale type view (when colours are over processed and enhanced!).
Sometimes:
The image above was taken from a moving car at night. Unfortunately, it didn’t initially show much of an image, but by adjusting the exposure, the trees appeared from the gloom. Most of the processing adjustments were made to make the trees look as clear as possible without any clipping. The aim being, to use the smallest amount of adjustments to achieve the result.
The settings I used for processing the image:
Setting | Value |
---|---|
Exposure | +3.40 |
Contrast | 0 |
Highlights | -43 |
Shaddows | +5 |
Whites | +25 |
Blacks | +24 |
Vibrance | +15 |
Saturation | -1 |
